Terms and Conditions

All Sales Are Final:

Due to the fact that we cannot control what happens to the wood after it leaves our facility, we cannot and will not be held liable in any way for any changes that may occur in the purchased material; therefore, all sales are final.  It is your responsibility to inspect your item upon pickup or delivery.  We will not accept returns.  Majority of our photos on our website were taken immediately after the wash-down process and some even after drying.  The wash-down is when we wash all of the sawdust off of the lumber so the grain can be seen clearly, in order to get a better view of what you are purchasing.  After this process, the items are put into dry storage to continue the drying process.  As the lumber begins to dry, the grain pattern may not look as detailed as the photos depict, but after your finished work is done and a sealer/clear coat is applied, the grain patterns are generally even more pronounced than what is shown in our initial pictures.  All items are sold as is and unfinished, so you can customize the piece to your liking. No bug or worm killing chemicals or treatments are guaranteed. If you purchase or place a deposit on an item and request to have it pulled and bundled prior to pickup then choose not to purchase said item then you will be liable for a minimum of 10% of the value of the item/items and if you request to cut/modify an item in anyway you will be asked to pay the full balance prior to modifications from its original shape, size or form. If a refund on modified item/items is requested you will be liable for a minimum of 50% of any and all items modified, all discretion is left to the owner or owners of that item or items whether you must pay full price or if you will get any refund at all. All website purchases that are not collected with in 3 days of purchase or other arrangements made with the sawmill will be refunded less 10% of purchase value or $10 minimum.

Holding products:
You will have 3 days to pick up any and all purchased items. If you purchase a product or products or put a hold on any item(s) in person for pickup at a later time you will be charged the greater amount of either $50 or 10% per item of the product(s) value per week for up to 2 weeks for a storage fee from 3 days after purchase. After 2 weeks if the items are not picked up or an arrangement is not negotiated with the mill then the items will be put back up for sale and any and all funds paid will be forfeited.

Drying:
We air dry all of our material and some we kiln dry in our vacuum kiln.  All of our air dried products are dry/semi-dry and we will sell green (wet/fresh sawn) material as well, and the moisture content may vary depending on several factors such as: how long it has been since the logs were cut from the tree, weather conditions, amount of time lapsed since the lumber was cut to usable material form, and how/where it was stored. We do take moisture readings for our own personal uses, we do not advertise our readings for liability purposes; however, customers are welcome to bring their own devises and take their own readings using their own devices prior to taking possession of purchased items, however if you (the customer) use a pin moister meter and stick the pins in any part of an item that is not the end grain (very end of the piece or edge, ask for guidance) you maybe liable to purchase that item or be liable to pay for any damages to that item or items. Items may sit in our storage and the wood grains may never move (split, crack or warp) but they may move when moved into a different environment, it is always best to let your pice acclimate to its new environment prior to working with it. It is up to you (the customer) to determine when the wood has reached a suitable and stable working condition.

Material conditions:
All our items are sold in rough sawn form, unless otherwise noted on an individual item. That means that in order to properly finish your item to your liking you will likely need to straight line, edge, joint, plane, surface, sand and possibly join your item or items. Our slabs/planks are sold with either 2 live edges or only 1 live edge, whether its dual or single live edge one or both sides may contain a little wane ( traces of live edge ) or a little square cut edge on both side from knots, dips in the log or just to maximize slab/plank width so the end user can cut to desired width. Beams and post may also contain wane (traces of live edge) on the edges or ends. Any and all products purchased from me should be inspected by  the customer to determine whether or not their product could have any type of bugs or worms living inside of their product. It is the customers responsibility to decide on the best treatment, if any, to use on their product to insure all possible living things inside of their product(s) are killed. I do not guarantee that any products held or sold at my mill, even kiln dried products, are bug/insect free.

Book Matched Table Sets:
Our table sets are 2 or more individual pieces that are cut in a way that when properly finished and joined it gives the illusion of one solid slab. Table sets and our large table slabs or sold in rough sawn form like the rest of our products. They will all need to be surfaced jointed and joined to complete your custom table design.

1" Board Bundles:
Our board bundles are individual boards paired together for an optimally priced bundle for quick and easy purchase for small projects. Bundles may contain various widths, thickness and lengths they may also contain flat, quarter and riff sawn boards as well as clear, knotty, wormy, cracked or doty boards.

Mixed hardwood Bundles:
Pallet boards are sold as green to moderately dry. Fence pickets are sold bulk stacked wet/green. Neither have been through any kiln cycles or any bug kill treatments at all unless otherwise noted on individual products. These boards can warp, twist, crack, split and shrink in the right conditions. Care should be taken to accommodate for these things. Like waiting to use them until the boards moisture content is at an acceptable level to work with and keeping spacer or drying sticks between the boards and keeping weight on the boards to insure that they dry straight as possible. These boards are priced low and certain care is passed to the customer for savings. These boards are cut, bulk stacked and then at a later date the bundles are broke down into smaller bundles that are air stacked and strapped to dry (unless noted bulk stacked). The sawdust isn't washed or brushed off of them, as they dry some of the sawdust will be blown out but not all. The boards can be planed, sanded or even hung up rough, but we do not offer finishing services at the mill. These bundles are cut at a high production rate sometimes leaving uneven thickness or width. “Pallet quality”

Finished products (i.e Cutting Boards, Trays and Others).
All Sales are final on boards or any other finished items. All our cutting boards are treated with all natural food safe ingredients. Never place your boards in a dishwasher or soak them in a sink. It is best to just rinse off your boards, dry and put away. If you need to wash your board, wash and rinse immediately then dry and put away, don't allow them to soak in water. Wood will always continue to move so it is normal for boards to develop a wobble. You can purchase rubber feet to add to the bottom side of the board to even out the movement. If you would like your board refinished or feet put on at a later time we can do that for an additional cost. You should continue to treat your boards after every few washes to maintain your boards integrity. You can treat your board with mineral oil for maintenance. The epoxy boards are food safe from the time they cure. If our boards are not listed as cutting boards then they should not be used as cutting boards due to possible open pores that may trap bacteria, If a board doesn't say it is intended for use as a cutting board and you do so any way, then you assume all risk. Cutting boards, trays, Charcuterie boards and all finished products are sold as is and priced accordingly to compensate for any possible defects that may of occurred in the wood naturally or during the building process.

Inventory:
We do not use computer inventory monitoring at the mill, if someone comes in and purchases an item or items with cash instead of going through the website then we will have to manually take those item(s) off our website later that evening after work. So if you buy something on the website that has been sold in person we will give you a full refund and check and see if we can help you find another item to suit.

Custom milling customer logs:
I have a $200 minimum for milling logs. Please call ahead to check on availability and timing of having your logs milled. I can mill a straight log at 50" and can mill a Slab, Plank or Board up to 44”, in perfect conditions. Logs need to be clean and free of dirt, rocks, gravel and medal prior to bringing them, if I have to clean your logs or debark them to get clean cuts and maximize blade life you will be charged at a rate of $75 per hour for extra services. I will run a metal detector over the logs and cut out any metal that I find, if possible, prior to milling, this will add additional service fees. If there seems to be too much metal in the log or I can't cut it out I will either notify you that I have to cut the log short or that I have to decline the log to insure I don't tear up my mill. If a log is declined, you must pick up your log within 3 days of notification, after 7 days you will forfeit your deposit and log, your log will either be salvaged and material from it sold to recoup costs/time spent on it or it will be burned/trashed. I do not guarantee cut accuracy due to the fact that there can be many hidden variables inside a log like hardened knots, stressed grain, twisted grain, large crack or voids full of dirt that will dull the blade quickly and can cause it to dip and dive in the cut. Also some logs have a lot of trapped stress in the grains and as you cut the log that stress is released, sometimes causing the end and/or middle of the log to warp down or up, resulting in "thick and thin" lumber/material. These are all common issues and precautions are taken to minimize the effects on all the above mentioned but it can and will happen. Additional services are available such as bulk stacking your wood and strapping it into a bundle, stacking your wood with drying sticks and strapping it into a ready to dry bundle, Brushing off or washing off sawdust from wood (there will still be some residual saw dust) then bundling with drying sticks.

Kiln Drying Services: Not Available at this time.
All products and material should be air dried down to 20%MC before kiln drying for optimal results. I will dry wood/material with a higher MC % upon request but the negative effects of drying wood/material with a higher MC % could be more sever. It is up to you to determine whether your wood/material is ready to be kiln dried, I do not take moisture readings of customers wood/material as part of my service for liability issues, if i do take a reading for you that will be for an estimate and will not be a guarantee of the current MC %. I am not liable for any damage caused to your (the customer(s)) wood/material during the time it is at my site waiting to go in the kiln, while in the kiln or while waiting to be picked up after being dried in the kiln. You can drop off your wood/material up to 1-5 days prior to the date given that I will be starting a new kiln load. I can and will turn down any order or wood/material as I see fit, if you have paid a deposit and your wood/material is refused your deposit will be refunded. If you pay a deposit to buy into a kiln slot date and fail to show you will forfeit your deposit. I will not dry heavily warped, rotting, bowed or twisted wood/material as I see fit. At time of drop off I will give you an estimated time of completion that way you can check in with me to get better timing of completion. Unless you chose to a certain to dry for a certain amount of days instead of down to a certain moister percent. If I personally decide to lengthen the cycle you will not be charged for the additional drying time. Any lost time due to power outages or technical issues will be added back to your drying cycle, to insure a full cycle. A full kiln cycle is typically 2-3 weeks. Once I notify you that your wood/Material is ready or will be ready by a specified date you will have 3 days after your specified date to pickup your material, after that you will be charged a storage fee of $0.25 per board foot per day and after 2 weeks (11 days of $.25 per BF per day) you will forfeit your wood/material and it will be sold or used to recoup the funds owed.
